In 2017, Deere & Company partnered with Scherer Design Engineering, Inc. to create and commercialize new kernel processing options for John Deere® self-propelled forage harvesters. XStream™ Kernel Processor for John Deere®

As part of this ongoing collaboration, Scherer and John Deere developed the XStream™ Kernel Processor, designed explicitly for the high-horsepower 9000 Series harvesters. Initially introduced with 250 mm (10 in.) diameter rolls and a 50% speed differential, the XStream™ Processor ensures thorough processing of kernels and plants, resulting in consistently high Corn Silage Processing Scores.

In 2022, the XStream™ Processor was further enhanced with the introduction of 275 mm (11 in.) diameter rolls, offering even better performance, regardless of the length of the cut.
